About Me:

I’m Sushant—a small-town boy from Bokaro who grew up with big dreams, without really knowing where they would eventually take me.

Over the last nearly three decades, life has taken me through different industries, countries, careers and versions of myself. I’ve worked across media, distribution, consumer businesses, banking, investments and real estate, built and worked with start-ups, led teams, created businesses and partnerships, and spent years understanding markets and people across India and internationally. Dubai has been home for more than a decade, but the small-town values I grew up with have never really left me.

Professionally, my journey has covered sales, marketing, investment banking, strategic partnerships, leadership, entrepreneurship and real estate. There have been successes I’m proud of, decisions I would make differently today, risks that worked, some that didn’t, and enough unexpected turns to teach me that careers—and lives—rarely follow the neat plans we make for them.

Outside work, travel has probably been one of my greatest classrooms. Having travelled across 49 countries, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing different cultures, people, food and ways of looking at life. I love cooking, travelling, exercising, exploring new ideas and having conversations that go beyond the usual small talk.

Fitness became another defining chapter of my life. In my early 40s, I found myself more than 50 kilograms heavier than I am today. Changing that wasn’t a quick transformation or a miracle diet. It required years of discipline, training, better nutrition and repeatedly showing up on days when motivation wasn’t there. That journey changed much more than my body. It changed the way I think about age, consistency and what we’re capable of when we stop putting expiry dates on ourselves.

Today, at 49, I’m still training, still experimenting, still building, still making mistakes and, hopefully, still becoming a slightly better version of myself along the way.

But these days, life is about much more than work or fitness. I’m a husband, a father to a teenage daughter who continues to teach me more about myself than she probably realises, an entrepreneur, a fitness enthusiast, a traveller, a content creator and someone increasingly interested in understanding the quieter parts of life—relationships, ageing, parenting, ambition, failure, happiness, health, money, identity and what actually matters as we get older.

That is really what Mindful Musings is about.

This isn’t a website where I pretend to have life figured out. I don’t.

It is simply a collection of thoughts, experiences and lessons gathered along the way—from a boy growing up in Bokaro to building a life and career across countries; from being overweight to discovering fitness in my 40s; from chasing conventional definitions of success to gradually questioning what success actually means.

Some posts will be about business. Some about fitness, food or travel. Others may be about fatherhood, relationships, getting older, mistakes I’ve made or something completely random that made me stop and think.

I write because life keeps teaching.

And because sometimes putting those thoughts into words helps me understand them a little better.

If something I’ve experienced makes someone think differently, start again, take better care of themselves, believe that age isn’t a limitation, or simply feel that someone else has wrestled with the same questions they have, then sharing it was worth it.

Still learning. Still evolving. Still curious. And still convinced that some of the most interesting chapters are yet to be written.
